Did You Know? Thu, 19 Jan 2012 05:05:54 +0000 We are the lucky recipient of an outreach and audience engagement grant from The Fledgling Fund, an organization which seeks to improve the lives of vulnerable individuals, families, and communities by supporting innovative media projects that target entrenched social problems.

We will facilitate youth-led screenings and discussion of GIRLS ON THE WALL in juvenile halls, alternative schools, court schools, community day and continuation schools targeted toward court-involved and marginalized girls, to generate open and concrete discussion of strategies to build a life outside of the corrections system and connect young women with arts-based organizations that can help them realize this goal.

Filmmaker Spotlight: Heather Ross Fri, 09 Dec 2011 05:27:53 +0000 Filmmaker Spotlight: Heather Ross

Our mighty director, Heather Ross got profiled by our new Educational DVD distributor, Collective Eye.

“I was taken with the idea of telling these girls’ story; you never hear the voices of marginalized girls, girls in the system – they’re always side characters in some gangster drama – and I was excited to hear what they had to say.”

Collective Eye Filmmaker Spotlight Series is a unique opportunity to hear directly from our filmmakers. The series provides a forum to learn about our filmmakers as well as get involved with relevant topics for each film.
